Submitted by excitingcommerce 26 months, 3 weeks, 3 days, 12 hours ago
"Independent designers and fashionistas who want to capitalize on social commerce and are looking for an easy way to increase their online sales now have a new option: OURthreads.com. Launched today, the community site lets members buy, sell or trade items from their customized virtual closets. "There's been big news in the social networking area, we're seeing MySpace and Facebook and other sites attracting a lot of attention, so we decided to create a social networking site for fashion," said co-founder Brian Finn. "We wanted to offer a social networking site for fashion, for people to buy, sell and trade, but also to communicate with each other." OURthreads allows members to connect to others with similar styles across the fashion spectrum from couture to retro through message boards and by showcasing their virtual closet. When you register with OURthreads you will be given a closet where you can post pictures of yourself, your clothes, your accessories and other items that you would like to share with the community. The site attracts anyone from college students l" Join discussion...

New social shopping app for Facebook, by Yahoo! Shopping - nicolas leroy
http://www.nicolasleroy.fr/wp/2007/08/new-social-shopping-ap...
Submitted by excitingcommerce 27 months, 2 weeks, 4 days, 17 hours ago
"The guys from Yahoo! Shopping US have launched their own Facebook app, named “My Favorite Thing“. This application makes good usage of Yahoo! Shopping APIs, to let Facebook users search products, manage list of products and share favorite products with their Facebook friends. The basics of social shopping are there, and I’m waiting for the next level: transform this app into something really fun to use or really useful to use; the current version is between the two, and quickly forgettable in the end. Come on, guys, I’m sure you can transform it into a killer app :)" Join discussion...

Submitted by excitingcommerce 28 months, 3 weeks, 3 days, 9 hours ago
"The social shopping market, although fairly crowded does not yet have established key players. This site draws on significant community features and given that people in general are lazy this site could become very popular. As ever the key to Recommendr's success wil be how quickly they can build up an active community." Join discussion...

Social Flowers - Send Flowers Through Social Networks
http://mashable.com/2007/07/08/social-flowers/
Submitted by excitingcommerce 29 months, 17 hours ago
"SocialFlowers may look like your standard online flower store, but it has a modern angle: sending flowers though social networks. Well, one social network for now - Facebook. After installing the Social Flowers Facebook app, the sender chooses a recipient from his friends list, then chooses the flowers and pays. There’s no need to know your receipient’s address: social flowers will send them an email requesting it, and the flowers get sent out by local florists in the United States and Cana Join discussion...

The Big Idea Behind Social Commerce | Internet Marketing News and Blog | E-consultancy.com
http://www.e-consultancy.com/news-blog/363712/the-big-idea-b...
Submitted by excitingcommerce 29 months, 2 days, 14 hours ago
"Social commerce is an appropriate term for the strategy of connecting customers to customers online, and leveraging those connections for commercial purpose. Why? Commerce broadly reminds us of both our objective and methods for extracting value from this new strategy. We're not after social networking, media, computing or shopping. Nor do any of these suffixes remind us that measurement is important." Join discussion...
